Mualla Yelkenci, one of the unforgettable names of Turkish cinema and theater, was born on April 1, 1931 in Trabzon. The artist, who passed away in Istanbul on December 2, 2019, left his mark on Turkish cinema with the works he left during his 88-year life.
Yelkenci's acting journey began in 1952 with the movie Yฤฑldฤฑrฤฑm Beyazฤฑt and Timurlenk. After this first experience, the artist quickly attracted attention and took part in many important productions until he quit acting in 1963. Yelkenci, who spent the last years of his life quietly, passed away on November 30, 2019 and his body was buried in Kilyos Cemetery.
