Feride Muazzez Arçay was born on February 6, 1907 in Skopje. Although he partially lost his vision due to an illness he had when he was a child, he regained his health with a successful surgery performed in Germany in 1924. After starting his education at the Private German High School in Istanbul, he received art education at the Theater School opened in Gülhane Alay Mansion.
Arçay, who was introduced to the stage in these years, took his first steps into professional acting life by establishing the Izmir Theater with Avni Dilligil in 1926 and remained in the same company until the closure of the theater.
Arçay married the actor Renan Fosforoğlu in 1939 and from this union, her son Ferdi Merter was born. During her bright period in cinema, she won the "Best Supporting Actress" award at the 6th Golden Orange Film Festival with the movie Thousand Years of Road, shot in 1969. However, he broke his leg in an accident in 1976 and did not have the opportunity to act in films after this incident.
The artist, who had a heart attack in the last years of his life, passed away at Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital on August 24, 1982. His body was buried in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
Arcay appeared in more than 80 films throughout his cinema career. He worked intensively in the 1950s, starting from 1939's Bir Kavuk Devrildi. During this period, Coffee Maker Beauty, Kıvırcık Pasha, Slut, Self-sacrificing Mother, Allah Karim, He took part in productions such as I Couldn't Forget You and Sürgün.
