Born in รankฤฑrฤฑ in 1964, Captain Mustafa Can is a name that has achieved significant success in the business world after his maritime career. Originally from Karaaฤaรง village of รankฤฑrฤฑ, Can pursued his dreams of being a captain at a young age, studied at Istanbul Technical University Maritime Faculty and went to sea after his graduation in 1988.
Mustafa Can, who held various captain positions on ships in the first ten years of his career, spent the last three years in international waters as a captain on Turkish flagged ships. In addition to these experiences, he also took on duties such as traffic operator and port manager in the Turkish Straits. Towards the end of the 1990s, he decided to transfer his maritime experience to trade and founded Gรผneล Denizcilik and VEGA Defense Industry Technologies companies. A shipping company he joined in 2010 has become one of the largest shipping agencies in Tรผrkiye.
Mustafa Can's activities in the business world are not limited to maritime and defense. Can, who has hotel investments in various regions of Istanbul, also carries out studies in the field of soilless agriculture (hydroponics). The businessman, who started producing food supplements through the Carmed Pharmaceutical company, also takes an active role in non-governmental organizations.
He has served as the chairman of the Istanbul รankฤฑrฤฑliler Foundation and the รankฤฑrฤฑ Confederation of Associations, and is also the chairman of the ฤฐlteriล Foundation, which carries out activities for the Turkish world. This foundation has signed an important cooperation protocol with TURKSOY in recent months.
While Mustafa Can was running for the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Council Membership in 2026, he also attracted attention with his criticisms of the current administrative economic policies.
