Nejat Özbek, who was born in Istanbul under the name Mehmet Nejat Özberk, was one of the well-known faces of Turkish cinema. His life, which started on August 15, 1941, ended on March 2, 2005 in Muğla. He was a name that showed itself in both acting and production fields.
Özbek, the child of a family originating from Thessaloniki, completed his education at Robert College, one of the elite schools in Istanbul. Nejat Özbek, who married three times in his private life, had two children from these marriages. His son Suat Özberk, born in 1968, and his daughter Ebru Özberk, born in 1972, were his children.
Özbek, who took his first step into the world of cinema as a leading actor in the movie "Yellow Boots" in 1969, starred in many cinema and television films until 1993. The artist, who usually appeared before the audience in supporting characters as well as the leading role, followed a unique line by staying away from the popular trends of Yeşilçam at that time.
In the later years of his career, he also worked as a producer at Varlık Film Company between 1986 and 1991, and signed many projects.
