Refik Kemal Arduman was born in Istanbul on 20 June 1901 and died in the same city on 11 July 1981. As an artist who builds bridges between the theater stage and the cinema screen, he became one of the founding actors of the City Theaters, and then appeared in front of the camera, acting and directing. Arduman, who also tried his hand at producing in a short time, is also known for his screenplay writing.

Arduman, a graduate of Galatasaray High School, started working as an extra at UFA film studios while studying engineering in Germany and stepped into cinema. After returning from abroad, he took the stage in scenes such as "Hale Operetta" with the roles of the horseman and took part in works such as "From Love for the Tragedy" in 1922.

He also made a directing debut by directing the movie "Köroğlu" in 1945. He joined the Istanbul City Theater in 1926 and made history as the first artist to retire from this organization in 1958. He continued his presence in the cinema world until 1975.

Arduman's influence in the world of cinema is also measured by the fact that he introduced names such as TurgutÖzatay, EdizHun and NevinAkkaya to the industry. In terms of family ties, she is the grandmother of ErimErsoy, the husband of her brother Samim Arduman's daughter Canan, and the sister of the grandmother of the famous geologist Celâl Şengör.
