Sema Keçik was born on October 4, 1965 in Diyadin district of Ağrı. While starting his artistic career, he graduated from Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory, Department of Acting. Later, he started to make a name for himself in the international arena: Upon the invitation of Gül Gürses, the artistic director of Theater des Augenblicks in Vienna, he participated in the International Theater Laboratory Training Program organized by this company.
Here he received intensive training on body movements from Monica Pagneux, sound and rhythm from Henning V. Vangerow, the Grotowski Method from Zygmund Molik, and the Stanistavski Method from Nelia Wechsler.
Following this experience, he attended Ariane Mnouchkine's Commedia dell'Arte seminar at the Soleil Theater in Paris, organized by Theater des Augenblicks, and studied Balinese masks. With the invitation of the same community in India, he went to the Kerala region and attended workshops on Kathakali dance and Kuthiyattam festival under the guidance of G. Venu. All these experiences gave the artist different perspectives on acting and stage performance.
Sema Keçik, who stepped into the world of television in 2009, first played the character of Düriye Bulut in the TV series "Bir Bulut Olsam". With this role, he also started to take part in TV series and cinema projects. In her private life, the artist married Ümit Karabel, who worked as a soloist dancer at the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet, and gave birth to a daughter named Ebru from this union. Unfortunately, her husband Ümit Karabel passed away on March 3, 2008.
