Settar Körmükçü was born on April 19, 1916 in Istanbul and died in the same city on January 6, 1957. Körmükçü, who graduated from Galatasaray High School, worked at the Istanbul Conservatory for a period. He stepped into the world of cinema in 1946 with the encouragement of his high school classmate Lütfi Akad.

In his book about the young actor's talent, Akad points out his potential by saying, "It took him time to digest this suggestion; he was still skeptical. However, thanks to his play, theater and stage experience since his childhood, he was no stranger to this field."

Körmükçü, who starred in eleven films directed by Lütfi Akad in his cinema career, also served as assistant director in "Arzu ile Kamber", shot in Baghdad. Körmükçü, who sat in the director's chair of the movie "Kanlı Nigâr", whose script was written by Osman Fahir Seden in 1955, made his name written in the history of cinema with this task.

His acting portfolio includes important productions such as "Hit the Kahpeye", "Lüküs Hayat", "In the Name of the Law", "White Handkerchief", "White Gold", "Fato - Either Independence or Death", "Hiccup" and "The Bride's Desire"; Their performances in these films made significant contributions to the Yeşilçam cinema of the period.

He is also known as the uncle of actors Hikmet Körmükçü, Hazım Körmükçü and Pelin Körmükçü. Körmükçü, who lived a short but influential life, passed away in Istanbul in 1957 when he was only 40 years old; He continues to be remembered for the works and family ties he left behind to the world of cinema.
