Simon John Pegg (born Simon John Beckingham) was born on 14 February 1970 in Brockworth, Gloucestershire, England. The son of a civil servant mother and a jazz musician father, Pegg took the surname of his mother's new husband after his parents divorced. Pegg, who had a great interest in art and acting in his youth, laid the foundations of his career by studying drama at Bristol University.

After graduation, he started doing stand-up comedy and entered the world of television, taking on various roles in British comedy series such as "Six Pairs of Pants" and "Asylum".

The production that introduced Pegg to large audiences in England and was a turning point in her career was the cult comedy series "Spaced" (1999-2001), which she created and starred in with Jessica Hynes and directed by Edgar Wright. His success in this series opened the doors of cinema wide for him. He had a big international breakthrough with "Shaun of the Dead" (2004), the first film of the "Three Flavors Cornetto" trilogy, directed by Edgar Wright and starring his close friend Nick Frost.

This production, which brought a comedic approach to zombie movies, was followed by the action-comedy "Hot Fuzz" (2007) and the science fiction-comedy "The World's End" (2013), both produced by the same team.

Enriching his career with Hollywood blockbuster series, Pegg joined the "Mission: Impossible" series as the character Benji Dunn in "Mission: Impossible III" (2006) and became one of the indispensable names of the series by starring in the films "Ghost Protocol" (2011), "Rogue Nation" (2015), "Fallout" (2018) and "Dead Reckoning" (2023). came.

Another huge adventure is J.J. He got his start with his portrayal of the legendary Montgomery "Scotty" Scott in Abrams' remake of "Star Trek" (2009). He continued this role in the films "Star Trek Into Darkness" (2013) and "Star Trek Beyond" (2016), for which he also co-wrote the screenplay. He also had the chance to take part in the biggest science fiction series of popular culture by portraying the character of Unkar Plutt in the movie "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" (2015).

The science fiction comedy "Paul" (2011), for which he wrote and starred together with Nick Frost, and his voice-over work as the character Buck in the "Ice Age" series are also important stops in his career. In recent years, he has also appeared before the audience in the popular comic book adaptation "The Boys".
