Yakup Yavru (March 1, 1952, Amasya โ September 25, 2018, Adana) is a Turkish film and TV actor who turned from being a teacher to an actor. Yavru, who is mostly seen in supporting roles and familiar characters such as neighborhood shopkeepers, civil servants or commissioners, has appeared in many television series, movies and commercials for many years.
After graduating from teacher training school, he worked as a teacher in different cities. During these years, he became interested in theater and over time, he took up acting as a profession.
Acting career
He began appearing regularly on screen from the mid-1990s. In the cinema, he took part in productions that reached large audiences, especially My Father and My Son and Recep ฤฐvedik; Holy Demijohn is also among his films. He worked as a character actor on television in TV series such as Second Spring and Large Family and many other productions.
In September 2018, he was invited to Adana for the Labor Award to be given at the 25th International Adana Film Festival. The morning after the opening ceremony, he had a heart attack in the hotel where he was staying; Despite the intervention in the hospital, he died on September 25, 2018, at the age of 66. The festival canceled its program that evening. His body was taken to his hometown Amasya and buried there.
