Gizem Berk was born on July 6, 1981 in Ankara. His mother is Nรผket and his father is Ertuฤrul Berk. Gizem, who became interested in ice skating at a young age, continued this sport officially for many years and achieved success by placing in many competitions.
His passion for rock music started with Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Jannys Joplin, which he listened to frequently at home. He started singing lessons with Ankara Opera singer Selva Erdener in 1995, and was curious enough to take guitar lessons in the same year. At the age of 15, he performed as a soloist in the Ethereal Travel band, which he founded with his friends at TED Ankara College, and in 1998, he released an album of his own songs called "The Mad Cartridge" with the Hammer Music label.
He moved to Istanbul in 1998 and enrolled in Yeditepe University Faculty of Dentistry. Gizem, who decided to step into her solo career in 2001, worked with Seรงkin Gรผl and Onur Betin, thanks to Gรผven Erkin Erkal, whom she met during the Ethereal Travel period. The demo paved the way for a deal with Cezzar Records, and he released his self-titled first solo album in his senior year at university in 2003.
While the album contained 12 tracks, it also included a Spanish song and three remixes. The most liked song was the original song "Ikimiz".
Gizem, who continued her active music life until 2004, studied laser technology in dentistry at RWTH Aachen University in 2005 and graduated in 2007. He contributed to many scientific studies on laser in dentistry and represented Turkey by giving speeches at international congresses in countries such as America, Spain, Germany, Taiwan, Greece, Belgium, England, Austria, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.
Currently, he continues his scientific research and serves with his mother in the clinic they own in Ankara.
In early 2014, in order to end his long break in music, he laid the foundations of a new album with Erkan Tatoฤlu, the owner of Midas's Earphone Studio. During the production process, which lasted approximately four months, Erkan Tatoฤlu managed the production process, and Gizem undertook the assistant production and arrangements.
The album was released on April 2, 2015 by the ADA Music label, and the lyrics and music of all songs belong to Gizem Berk.
