Gülenay Kalkan

Gülenay Kalkan Ünlüoğlu is a well-established theater artist born in Ankara on April 26, 1959. Kalkan, who started his professional life in Ankara, spent his childhood and youth in this city. At the age of fourteen, he enrolled in the Ankara State Conservatory Theater Department and after graduating from there, he started his artistic life at the Ankara State Theatre.

The actor, who served for many years both on stage and behind the scenes, took part in many theater plays and was also known for his voice-over work in cinema and TV series projects.

In 2002, he entered a new period in his professional career and was appointed to the Istanbul State Theatre. Since then, he has continued to contribute to the development of this institution both in acting and managerial terms. Kalkan, who enriches his stage experience at every opportunity during his artistic journey from Ankara to Istanbul, continues to meet the audience in both classical and contemporary plays.

One of Gülenay Kalkan's most remarkable works are the plays staged at the Ankara State Theatre. His performances in productions such as "Middle Play", "I Close My Eyes and Do My Duty", "All My Sons", "Mother Lady, Girl Lady" and "Love Me as Much as the World" were appreciated by both critics and theater lovers. He also took part in important works of Turkish theater such as "Keşanlı Ali", "Koca Sinan", "Karaağaçlar Altında" and "Ateşle Oyunyan".
