Hayri Esen, one of the unforgettable voices of Turkish cinema, was born in Balıkesir in 1919. Esen, who made his stage debut at Balıkesir Community Center in 1933, started his professional theater career at Izmir City Theater in 1945. After graduating from Edirne Art Institute, the artist developed his talent in the field of theater and later settled in Istanbul and had the opportunity to work with doyens such as Avni Dilligil and Mümtaz Ener.
Hayri Esen, who also took part in Çığır Sahne, started to appear in front of the camera in 1950 and stepped into the world of cinema.
Hayri Esen, who quickly attracted attention with his characteristic and deep voice, became the voice of many iconic names, especially during the Yeşilçam period, such as İzzet Günay, Ayhan Işık and the Tarkan character played by Kartal Tibet. The father of actor Itır Esen, the artist left his mark on Turkish cinema with his mastery in the field of dubbing.
While he continued his theater career in Avni Dilligil and Muammer Karaca theaters, he also gained experience in different fields such as directing and scriptwriting. Hayri Esen, who passed away due to a heart attack in Istanbul in 1977, was buried in his eternal resting place in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.

He achieved success in the field of voice-over by speaking to many celebrities. He continued acting in Avni Dilligil and Muammer Karaca theatres.
Hayri Esen, who also had experience in directing and screenwriting, died of a heart attack on February 6, 1977. His grave is in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
