Max Beesley

Max Beesley (full name Maxton Gig Beesley Jr., born 16 April 1971) is an English artist who began as a musician and became known as an actor. On television, he is known for series such as Hotel Babylon, Survivors and Mad Dogs.

He was born into a family of jazz musicians in the Burnage district of Manchester; his father, Maxton Beesley Sr. He is a jazz drummer. He studied music at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. In his youth he worked as a studio musician playing percussion and keyboards; He took part in the recordings and stages of names such as Jamiroquai, Take That and Stevie Wonder. He turned to acting in the mid-1990s.

Acting career

One of his first notable television roles was the lead role in 1997's The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling. In the 2000s, he played Rob Lake in the hospital drama Bodies, and the hotel's assistant manager, Charlie Edwards, in BBC One's Hotel Babylon, which started in 2006. He also starred in ITV's Talk to Me. From 2008–2010, he played Tom Price in Survivors, a remake of the 1970s science fiction series of the same name.

In 2011-2013, he appeared before the audience as the character Woody in Mad Dogs. In subsequent years, he played Henry Sharrow in Jamestown (2017–2019), detective Daniel Farrell in the Apple TV+ series Hijack (2023), and boxing promoter Henry Collins in Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen (2024), produced for Netflix. In cinema, he starred in films such as The Match (1999) and Kill Me Later (2001).

Beesley, who transferred his musical education to acting, is one of the regular actors on British television.
