Sarp Aydınoğlu is a Turkish stage, film and television actor born in Ankara in 1980. Television audiences know him best as Benjamin, the character he played in the series Leyla ile Mecnun; on stage, he has worked with Semaver Kumpanya for many years.
He entered the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory in 1998 to train as an actor and graduated from the theatre department in 2002. Straight after finishing school he joined the company of Semaver Kumpanya, taking on numerous roles in the classical and contemporary plays the troupe staged. In 2006 he also performed at Akbank Children’s Theatre in the play Alice Harikalar Diyarında (Alice in Wonderland).
Screen work
His first film and television work dates to the second half of the 2000s; the 2007 production Barda is one of the films from this period. His real recognition, however, came with Leyla ile Mecnun, which began airing in 2011. He played Benjamin in the series, which gained a devoted fan base of its own with its absurd humour.
In the following years he appeared in a range of projects, from period dramas such as Muhteşem Yüzyıl to digital productions such as Metot. He was also in the cast of the film Sen Ben Lenin and the fantasy comedy series Prens. In 2025 he played the character Müfit in the Netflix series Kasaba. He has also done voice-over work.
Aydınoğlu continues his career as an actor who combines his theatre roots with character roles on screen and has kept his ties to the stage.
