Yudum. Running since 1998, this is one of the older chat communities still going‐speaking people from around the world since 1998. The international lobby is the hub where you can sign in with your free account and start talking right away—no download, no plug‐in required. If you’re in the Netherlands, you’ll notice the lobby gets especially lively during the European evening, which is just one hour behind central Europe.
Only members can join the chat; signing up is free and takes a few seconds, and you can also use Google. Then pick a room that interests you—music, games, movies, or any of the many topic rooms—and you’re in the conversation. Your nickname, private messages, friends list and group rooms stay with your account.
Registering is free and optional, but it gives you continuity. Once you create an account, your chosen nickname stays with you, so you won’t be assigned a new name each time you log in. You also get a personal profile where you can add a short bio or avatar, and a friends list that lets you keep track of people you enjoy chatting with. In addition, registered members can open and join private group rooms, making it easier to gather a regular circle for voice or video calls.
Every member shares the same moderated environment, meaning the community follows the same standards against spam, harassment, and adult content. Private messages, voice, and video calls are available to friends, and the built‐in Radyo Yudum radio can be enjoyed by anyone. The layout adapts to phones, tablets, and desktops, with a full‐screen view on mobile devices.
