Ahmet Akkaya

Ahmet Akkaya is a Turkish pop singer, songwriter and arranger born on October 11, 1966 in Mersin. He became known with the song Ah Canım Vah Canım, which bears the name of his first album released in 1994; Because of this success, he was known as "Ah Canım Ahmet" for many years.

He was introduced to music through folk music in Mersin during his childhood. When he was in secondary school, he moved to Germany with his family and started studying piano there. He came to Istanbul from Germany to prepare his first album; His work with producer Özkan Uğur formed the basis of his breakthrough in the mid-1990s.

Albums

The song of the same name from the album Ah Canım Vah Canım, released in September 1994, reached the top of the charts. Hasret and Gel Diyorum from the album also attracted attention and were frequently featured on television with their clips. This was followed by the albums Dayanamam in 1996 and Aşık in 1998.

He took a long break from music in the 2000s. He returned with the album Metropol in 2010; He then published Bla Bla Bla in 2015, Hey Istanbul in 2018 and We Are All Alone in 2019. In addition to these recordings, which combine electronic elements with pop music, he made arrangements for other artists, produced commercial music and performed in 1990s-themed concerts.
