Ayşe Şule Bilgiç combines her identity as a clinical psychologist, educational technology expert, writer and entrepreneur and carries out projects that intersect in the fields of psychology, education, child development and digital learning.
Bilgiç, who has three undergraduate and two master's degrees, graduated from Koç University, Psychology and Media and Visual Arts departments, and Marmara University, Faculty of Communication, with honors under the guidance of Ünsal Oskay. Then, he completed his master's degree in Educational Technologies at Eskişehir Anadolu University and worked as a professor at Istanbul Kent University.
Dr. He graduated from the Clinical Psychology program directed by Mehmet Zihni Sungur and received the title of clinical psychologist. He is currently conducting academic research on topics such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence-supported child well-being, anti-bullying, social-emotional learning and values education under the umbrella of TOYZELAB (Society, Artificial Intelligence and Education Research Laboratory).
Examining the effects of artificial intelligence on child development, Bilgiç developed the AI-supported educational technology called "Uppy", which aims to protect children between the ages of 3 and 6 in the digital environment. Uppy was chosen as the second best education technology startup in the world at the G20 Summit.
While she has been producing projects and social initiatives that bring together disciplines such as communication, education, psychology, philosophy and neuroscience for children for nearly sixteen years, she explains her motivation with the words "I feel responsible as the mother of not only my own biological children, but also all children born in Turkey and the world."
Bilgiç, the author of more than 150 children's books, has reached a wide readership by selling over 7.5 million copies of these works. His study, "Analysis of the Number of Words in Pre-School Age Group Prepared and Published in Children Books Between 2015–2020 in Turkey", was published at the 1st International Infant, Child and Adolescent Psychology Congress.
Dusyeri, which he founded in 2008, became known throughout the country with the cartoon called Pepee and stood out as a social enterprise aiming to provide equal opportunities in education through television. Dusyeri, in partnership with names such as Ali Sabancı, Ali Koç, Begüm Doğan, Göktekin Dinçerler, Varol Civil, Kenan Çolpan, Ayşegül Akşak and Timuçin Öğün, also conducted an academic study examining parents' views on distance education during the COVID-19 period, together with Anadolu University Faculty of Education under the umbrella of Dusyeri LAB.
Bilgiç argues that education will go beyond the boundaries of traditional schools and curriculum, and new approaches will be shaped that will focus on children and caregivers.
