The artist, who graduated from Istanbul University State Conservatory Theater Department in 1995, stepped into the professional theater stage immediately after completing his education. He gained experience by taking part in various plays at Dormen Theater between 1994 and 2001.

A turning point in his career was the TV series Kurtlar Vadisi, in which he starred in 2003-2004. He managed to attract the attention of large audiences with his psychologically deep character, Erdal Kömürcü, in this series. Zengin, who displayed his talent in different areas of theatre, directed the plays such as "Karmakarşık", "Popcorn", "Kare Ace" and "The Game" staged by Theater Candela.
