Channel Commands

This English text is provided for information only; the binding version is the Turkish one: Turkish original

Joining a channel

/join #channelname

If the channel does not exist it is created when you enter, and as the first person in you get op. To keep it, you must register it.

Registering a channel

/cs REGISTER #channel <password> <description>

For example: /cs REGISTER #room Kestane8Yaprak A chat room

After registration you are the founder; privileges and settings survive even when you leave.

Granting privileges

CommandWhat it does
/cs OP #channel nickGrants operator status
/cs DEOP #channel nickRemoves operator status
/cs VOICE #channel nickGrants voice (the right to speak)
/cs DEVOICE #channel nickRemoves voice

Granting op requires AOP level or above. Giving yourself voice is possible from VOP level.

The access list

/cs ACL #channel
/cs ACL #channel deniz

Shows who holds which level. Levels are permanent: when someone leaves and comes back, their privileges return by themselves.

โš  The command is ACL. There is no ACCESS command.

Kicking and banning

/cs BAN #channel nick [minutes] [reason]

For example: /cs BAN #room troll 60 abuse โ€” a one-hour ban.

With no duration the ban does not expire.

โš  A ban applies to the address the person is on at that moment. If they change IP (mobile data, restarting a router) they can get around it โ€” for a lasting answer use the device ban in channel management.

Channel settings

/cs SET #channel topic Welcome
/cs INVITE #channel

INVITE lets you into your own channel when it is invite-only (+i) or registered-users-only (+R).

Group channels

Channels starting with #grup- are social group channels, with membership, announcements and events. You can see yours on the groups page.

Deleting a channel registration

/cs DROP #channel

โš  The whole access list goes with it and it cannot be undone. Only the founder can do this.
