How to Play Pişti

What is pişti?

Pişti is a card game played with a 52-card deck. The aim is to collect cards from the table and score points. Here it is played two-handed.

Every rule below is what the engine enforces.

The deal

Four cards are turned face up on the table and each player is dealt four cards. When hands run out, four more are dealt to each player; this continues until the deck is exhausted.

If the top table card at the start is a jack, it is moved underneath — so nobody wins four cards for free on the first move.

Playing a card

On your turn you play one card from your hand onto the table. What happens depends on it:

• If it matches the rank of the top card on the table, you take every card on the table.
• A jack always takes — whatever is on the table, as long as the table is not empty.
• With no match, the card joins the table and the turn passes.
• A card played to an empty table is simply left there.

Pişti

If there is exactly one card on the table and you match it, you score a PİŞTİ and earn extra points. It is the most valuable move in the game.

⚠ A jack cannot make a pişti. A jack takes everything anyway, so it does not count as a matching success.

Scoring

At the end of a hand the collected cards are counted:

• Each ace and each jack: 1 point
• 2♣ (two of clubs): 2 points
• 10♦ (ten of diamonds): 3 points
• Most cards collected: bonus points (nobody scores it if the count is equal)
• Each pişti: bonus points

The exact values are configurable by the administration; the counter at the table always reflects the current values.

How the hand ends

When the deck and the hands are finished the hand ends. Any cards left on the table go to the player who took cards last. The higher score wins.
