Yudum is a real IRC network — the website and the chat are the same account and the same rooms. This page collects the IRC side in one place; each section links to the detailed guide.

🔌 Connecting

Server irc.yudum.net, port 6697, TLS only. The plain-text port (6667) is closed, so your client must be set to use SSL/TLS.

Client access also needs a connection password issued by the administrators — connecting with an external client is approved per account, while the browser chat is open to everyone. Full instructions: connecting with an IRC client and secure (TLS) connection.

👤 Registering your nickname

Your nickname is your account: profile, friends, groups and channel rights all hang off it.

• /ns REGISTER <password> <e-mail> — register.
• /ns IDENTIFY <password> — sign in on a later connection.
• Passwords are 8 to 32 characters; obvious ones such as 12345678 are refused.

💬 Channels

Join with /join #channel. To keep a channel and its settings, register it with ChanServ:

• /cs REGISTER #channel — register a channel you created.
• /cs ACL #channel ADD <nick> <level> — give someone rights. (The command is ACL; there is no ACCESS command on this network.)
• /cs OP #channel <nick> — give operator status.

💻 Clients

Any standard IRC client works — mIRC and HexChat on Windows, HexChat or irssi on Linux, Textual on macOS, and several on Android and iOS. Set the server to irc.yudum.net, port 6697, and turn TLS on.

• /join #channel — enter a room · /part #channel — leave it
• /msg <nick> <message> — private message
• /whois <nick> — who someone is
• /nick <newnick> — change nickname
• /away <reason> — mark yourself away · /away — come back
• /quit <reason> — disconnect
